“In response to the request made by many supply companies in Guanajuato that are currently building the Toyota factory, TAR Airlines will start operating the international route Querétaro-San Antonio Texas in October 2017”, informed Jose Gil Calzadías Carvajal, manager of Public Relations and Promotion of the airline carrier.
Gil stated: “this route will be focused on business travel, especially to serve the automotive industry in this state”, and added: “obviously, San Antonio is an ideal destination for Toyota executives and suppliers that are actually asking for that connection, considering it absolutely necessary. And this way, San Antonio will become one more of the international destinations available from Querétaro’s Intercontinental Airport”.
In addition, he stressed that just a few weeks ago the airline obtained international certifications that allow it to fly this international route.
“We know that other firms will start operations of new routes to Los Angeles and other interesting destinations. Our new route is an important complement for the Intercontinental Airport of Querétaro, though”, said José Calzadías.
In early 2017, the firm took important decisions in relation with the uncertain global economy conditions, and the new U.S. President Donald Trump policies that are impacting this sector in a negative way.
On the other hand, Querétaro’s government made a request to TAR Airlines in order to analyze the possibility of operating flights to “Sierra Gorda” with the required special aircrafts.
This analysis must include a reviewing of the required certifications, track removal work and a route analysis.
Transportes Aéreos Regionales has been restructuring more than 130 routes and 30 destinations in order to contemplate round flights in most of them, since March 2017.
The company’s fleet consists in 10 Embraer ERJ 145 jets with capacity for 50 people, and they are in the process of acquiring 10 to 12 new airplanes through financing and leasing schemes, in the next 12 months.
