Two men were executed with semi-automatic weapons in the neighborhood of Los Aguacates, León, Guanajuato.
The incident took place at 9:30 p.m. on July 2, on the corner of Rio Presidio street and Hermanos Aldama boulevard.
Pablo Barrientos López and Francisco Ornelas Buzo, (aka “El Pancho“), were standing in the middle of Rio Presidio street, when suddenly, eight men traveling in two vehicles parked in front of them, and without saying a word, opened fire against Pablo and “El Pancho“.
The victims fell on the sidewalk, and their bodies ended up under a car, as the killers got into their vehicles and fled the scene. Officials said the men were shot with R-15 long weapons, according to the evidence found.
“More than 15 shots were heard, but we did not leave the house fearing to be shot too,” said Teresa, a resident of Los Aguacates.
Witnesses reported the incident to the Unified Emergency System (911), and Municipal Police officers showed up, immediately requesting an ambulance.
Civil Protection personnel arrived onsite, but they could not do anything for the victims as they had already passed away.
Agents of the Preventive Police cordoned off the area to avoid contaminating the double homicide scene.
Experts from the Attorney General’s Office collected the evidence to be attached to the investigation folder.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) facility, to determine the causes of death. Nobody was arrested in relation to this crime.
