Mineral de Pozos celebrates six years since it was designated “Pueblo Mágico” (Magic Town) and various activities will be taking place, including concerts, lectures on the history and culture of this historic town, art exhibitions and walking tours of the old mining area.
Today, the “Ghost Town”, as Mineral de Pozos is widely known due to its empty and peaceful cobblestone streets, celebrates six years of having been considered as one of the 111 Magical Towns in the Mexican Republic.
Mineral de Pozos has a big tourist potential as an ideal place to relax and have a great weekend waking through its “western” type streets. One of the main attractions is the San Pedro Church, which is the most important temple and historic monument in town.
The festivities will begin on Saturday February 17th, with the inauguration ceremony at 12 noon in the Zaragoza square, to continue at 3 o’clock in the afternoon with the Children’s choir of the Miguel Hidalgo school in Plaza Zaragoza and at 4:30 pm, the Mineral de Pozos, presentation of lawyer Juan Enrique Sánchez García, in the house of Culture.
