CRISMA, San Miguel’s local center for rehabilitation for people with disabilities, has been doing a great job for San Miguel and now wants to serve the entire region. Toward that end, they recently broke ground on a new hospital here where more people will be able to take advantage of their extremely low-cost services beginning as early as next year.
Come to Rotary Tuesday, March 13, when CRISMA Medical Director Dr. Sergio Legorreta Martinez will share the exciting details. The meeting will be at Hotel Mision, Salida a Queretaro 1, at 12:00, free and in English.
“The first phase of the project will provide better hydro- and speech therapies, pediatric services, and administrative offices, among other areas,” said Dr. Legoretta. The second phase will provide a parking lot, a café, an auditorium and computer facilities along with doctors’ offices. The entire project is due to be completed in 2022.
CRISMA is operated by Vamos Mexico, which is connected to the Fox Center. It provides diagnostic services and both physical and neurological rehabilitation treatments, primarily for those who have limited ability to access the same. Collaborators including the city, the state, the University of Guanajuato, Patronato Pro Ninos, and Karnik Child Neurology Consultants of Austin, Texas.
