The Hay Festival Querétaro 2018 will take place from September 6 to 9.
This event seeks to bring the population closer to culture and the state is prepared to receive around 30 thousand people, who will leave an economic spill of more than 14 million pesos.
Esther Carboney, Secretary of Tourism of the municipality of Querétaro, said that in this third edition of the festival there will be more than 140 guests from 16 countries.
“This event offers a series of talks with important personalities that leaves an important economic revenue and a cultural footprint in our the city, with a greater positioning year after year, which allows the attraction of more tourists to the state capital,” she said.
It highlights the participation of characters such as Shirin Ebadi, the first Muslim woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize; Venki Ramakrishnan, Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and journalists Lidya Cacho and Denisse Dresser, While in the musical field, living legend Patty Smith will be performing.
I have explained that topics related to science, literature, technology, culture, arts and communication will be addressed in more than 100 activities, talks and conferences; all of them will have as a priority inclusion and recreation.
Hay Festival Querétaro 2018 will take place in public squares, theaters and auditoriums throughout the city, sites that complement the event with their historical and cultural wealth, tourist attractions well known by visitors.
Carboney added that the city of Queretaro has a hotel infrastructure suitable to accommodate tens of thousands of travelers, who will be attending the festival, with an offer of almost nine thousand rooms.
