San Miguel de Allende, begins to dress in the color of cinema, to be again the proud host of the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF), in which this year Lebanon will be the guest country, and with therefore, the visit of the famous filmmaker Ghassan Salhab is expected.
The Lebanese director, scriptwriter and producer will be honored at the festival for his outstanding film work, such as the documentary “Heber sini” and the film “The mountain”.
Salhab will also give a keynote address in San Miguel de Allende, where the film festival already started, which will take place from July 20 to 23, before moving to Guanajuato, capital, where the activities will conclude on the 29th.
During the opening gala in San Miguel de Allende, the documentary “Mamacita” was screened.
In this same framework, a tribute was paid to the director, Nadie Labaki, who is considered one of the main representatives of the new Lebanese cinema, explained Sarah Hoch, the director of GIFF.
Thus, this municipality refines details to captivate its visitors and film lovers during this edition, and will also take advantage to showcase its architecture and cuisine that have led it to be distinguished for the second year in a row as one of the best cities to visit by readers of the Travel+Leisure magazine.
