Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón recently had to write an official letter for Jorge Guerrero, one of the actors who appeared in Oscar nominee feature film “Roma” in order to be granted a U.S. visa after his application has been denied three times.
The letter was intended at giving Guerrero an opportunity to attend the red-carpet gala at the Oscars, which will be held on February 24 since the Mexican film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards.
Jorge Guerrero, played the role of Cleo’s boyfriend Fermín. He explained that the letter written by Cuarón was one of the documents he had to present to migration authorities since it is a well-known fact, that those who apply for a visa have to prove their financial capacity, account for their personal property and their profession.
