The Monterrey Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Power ended the longest post-electoral conflict in the last process of this year and confirmed the triumph of PRI Mauricio Trejo Pureco as elected mayor of the municipality of San Miguel de Allende.
With this, the court by unanimous vote ruled that the verification carried out by the National Electoral Institute was correct regarding the fact that there was no exceedance of the campaign spending cap that was denounced by the candidate of the National Action Party, Luis Alberto Villareal.
Likewise, by the majority, they confirmed the resolution of last August 27 in which the State Electoral Tribunal of Guanajuato (TEEG) with the unanimous vote of the magistrates, determined to declare the validity of the election of Mauricio Trejo Pureco as municipal president of San Miguel de Allende, as well as the assignment of regidurías in favor of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).
This is because the lawsuits presented by the then-candidate of the National Action Party (PAN) Luis Alberto Villarreal and the political institute he represents, respectively, could not prove a single of the grievances they presented, the TEEG said at the time. At this point, only Magistrate Claudia Valle Aguilasocho voted against it.
