After concluding his duty on Tuesday, June 28th, Juan Carlos Moreno Ayala was ambushed and assassinated in the 8 de Junio neighborhood, in the city of Irapuato, Guanajuato.
After finishing his shift, Juan Carlos Moreno Ayala, the commander of the Municipal Police of Irapuato, was ambushed and killed while driving his car.
Armed individuals opened fire on the commander, who had 22 years of corporate experience, as he was operating a private vehicle on Las Nimas Avenue.
The assault on Moreno Ayala took place two days after J. Reyes Méndez, the former director of the municipal police, was also killed. Reyes Méndez was set to resign on May 21 of last year as a result of threats and an attack on his bodyguard.
The Secretariat of Citizen Security expressed its condemnation of these criminal acts. The city of Irapuato is in the middle an insecurity crisis.
