Students from SABES San Miguel win second place in the Robotics World Cup

In Michigan, the three Guanajuatenses competed against rivals from the United States, Canada, China, England, France, Hungary, India, South Africa, and South Korea.

Three young people from the Cerritos community in SMA won second place in the Robotics World Cup that was held in Michigan, USA. The students traveled to the United States with support from the municipal government.

“ I am very happy that my announcement has nothing to do with Public Works, with the Municipal Presidency or with Lopez Obrador; but rather that it has to do with the youth of San Miguel ”, said the municipal president, Mauricio Trejo , in a video that he uploaded to his social networks.

One of the three students named Daniela said she was “very proud to represent her country and this was like a dream come true.”

The three youngsters are SABES students from the Cerritos community made their parents, relatives and friends, very happy. 

The global stage of this competition took place from May 11 to 13 at Lawrence Technological University, in Southfield, Michigan, United States; where the Cerritos team participated with the “Juancholon” robot in the Bottle Sumo Unlimited category, competing against national teams from countries such as the United States, Canada, China, Egypt, England, France, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Lebanon, Singapore, South Africa, and South Korea.

The young people from Guanajuato who represented Mexico in this international competition obtained their pass after also getting second place in the Latin American qualifying round in San Miguel de Allende, on March 10 and 11 of this year, in which four more teams from the SABES high school in San Miguel participated, at the invitation of the organizing committee and the mayor’s office.
