San Miguel Allende and Guanajuato capital are among the most visited destinations during the Holy Week holidays, as stated by Francisco Meza from El Sol de León, with insights from Rosario Horta.

“The Semana Santa along with Easter Week is coming, a time when recreational tourism grows due to school vacations, and tourist destinations in Guanajuato such as San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato capital, and the magical towns will undoubtedly be very visited,” said the statement..

“The hotel industry, restaurant sector, and tourism service providers are preparing to welcome tourists with open arms and are ready to make their stay much more satisfying, allowing them to return home and influence more people who could come for Holy Week,” it was added.

If you visit Guanajuato capital, initially there are guides who can support you with a tour, but if you wish to explore on your own, the places you cannot miss are firstly the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, Juárez Theater, Mummies Museum, Diego Rivera House, the Pípila monument, the University of Guanajuato, you must attend a Callejoneada, know the Alley of the Kiss (Callejón de Beso), and of course the Presa de la Olla.

In San Miguel de Allende, known for its rich history, vibrant artistic scene, and impressive architecture, the first thing to do is visit the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel, a striking pink neo-Gothic church, take a walk through its main Garden where you will find street shows, music, and gastronomy, as well as visit its Craft Market with the best of the crafts made by local artists.

Another attraction is its vineyards with more than 28,000 hectares of vines, both red and white wines, and spend a spectacular day, also immerse yourself in its thermal waters.
