Wedding tourism generated an economic benefit in Guanajuato of 4.5 billion pesos in 2023

The state received more than 500 thousand visitors, San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato capital are the favorite cities for weddings.

The state of Guanajuato has 14 favorite municipalities for weddings, of which San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato capital are World Heritage cities while the rest are Magical Towns, in this way the Romance Industry generated the visit of more than 500 thousand visitors to the state and economic spill of 4.5 billion pesos in 2023.

Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, highlighted the relevance of this sector during the inauguration of the 14th edition of the LAT Weddings and Spectacular Events Congress.

In 2023, San Miguel de Allende reported just over 900 weddings, Guanajuato capital around 650, and León had the same, which makes it a very important segment with an economic impact of more than 4.5 billion pesos.

For her part, Alejandra Gutiérrez highlighted the movement generated by the various activities in the city.

In the specific case of the LAT Weddings and Spectacular Events Congress, 600 people from 20 countries will meet to offer continuous training to professionals in the Latin American romance industry, who through conferences will be able to learn about the latest trends, innovation, business tools, and various actions that will allow them to grow to improve their business opportunities.
