Libia Dennise García is now the first female governor of Guanajuato

Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo was sworn in as governor of Guanajuato on September 26.

Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo acknowledged that one of the concerns is security in the state, but assured that there will be peace and tranquility in Guanajuato.

Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo was sworn in as the first governor of Guanajuato before legislators of the local congress.

“I swear to uphold the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, that of the state of Guanajuato, and the laws that they emanate,” she said.

The new governor of Guanajuato highlighted the work of women in the state
She began by mentioning and remembering the work of Guanajuato women throughout history. “I want to tell all of them that I will be up to their fight, that I will honor the work that each one did so that we could get here,” she said.

In her speech, she added that plurality, and diversity of opinions and voices are required. She acknowledged that one of the concerns is security. “And do not have any doubt that we are going to return peace and tranquility to Guanajuato,” she said.

García Muñoz Ledo declared that there will be good results for Guanajuato

Regarding her relationship with Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the first female president of Mexico, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, said that there will be work in favor of the state and assured that there will be good results.

“I am sure that the next president of Mexico will have a great vision to favor the states of the country, and I have no doubt that Guanajuato will be included,” she said.

Amid applause and cheers, the first female governor of Guanajuato ended her speech.
