Maya Train offers “all-inclusive tourist packages” for Semana Santa

The tourist packages range from 14 thousand to 18 thousand pesos (700 to 900 USD), depending on the days of travel; flights, lodging, and attractions are included.

After the Maya Train reported more than 11 thousand tickets sold during the December holiday season, the general director, Oscar David Águila, announced tourist packages for the Easter (Semana Santa) holidays.

At the morning press conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum, the project presented seeks Mexican families to travel and visit destinations such as Mérida, Tulum, Bacalar, and Chetumal.

The 10 tourist packages presented include lodging in hotels built by the Government and visits to archaeological sites.

Leaving Mexico City out of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) and arrive at Tulum, Mérida, or Palenque, to then board the Maya Train and begin the adventure through the Mexican southwest.

The tourist packages for Easter include traveling through the 34 stations of the Maya Train, 29 archaeological zones, and 10 theme parks.

In addition, the opening of the Maya Train hotels, Edzá, Chichén Itzá, Tulum, Tulum Arpton, and Calakmul have had a good reception in just over a month of operation.

During “Semana Santa“, the 10 tourist packages available to travel on the Maya Train for 4 days and 3 nights are the following:

Ruta de Las Maravillas (Route of Wonders), with a cost of 15,780 pesos.
Mares y Lagunas (Oceans and Lagoons), 16,430 pesos.
Entre Lagunas y Leyendas (Between Legends and Lagoons), 14,643 pesos.
La Tierra del Jaguar, (Land of the Jaguar) 16,529 pesos.
Alma Libre en el Caribe (Free Soul in the Caribbean), 16,735 pesos.

5-day, 4-night packages are the following:

Heart of the Mayan World, 17,516 pesos.
Roots of the Mayab, 18,330 pesos.
Heart of the Ancients, 18,374 pesos.

6-day, 5-night packages:

A Mayan treasure, 20,581 pesos.
Between pyramids and palm trees, 23,186 pesos.

Another program that seeks to promote the Mayan Train, is the one presented in the same space by Martí Batres, director of ISSSTE, who presented tourist packages for government employees.
