The American coffee shop Starbucks launched a Valentine’s Day collection that is inspired by the iconic hearts of San Miguel de Allende.
Valentine’s Day is approaching, also called Valentine’s Day, and the American coffee shop Starbucks launched 2025 a collection of thermoses and cups that fuse modernity and tradition, which is now available in branches located in Guanajuato and in the country.
Starbucks’ Valentine’s Day collection consists of 4 thermoses and a cup that is inspired by the iconic hearts of San Miguel de Allende that pays tribute to the “Milagritos”, which are small Mexican amulets that have been a symbol of faith, protection, and good wishes for generations.
The so-called “Milagritos”, made mainly of brass, wood, or wax, are traditional pieces that are loaded with deep symbolism: hearts for love, hands for protection, and eyes for spiritual vision.
The figures originally used as offerings to ask for or give thanks for miracles have transcended as decorative amulets that adorn doors, windows, and altars, and are considered protection against bad energies.
In Mexican culture, their presence is a constant reminder of the connection between the spiritual and the everyday.
Starbucks’ Valentine’s collection is made up of exclusive pieces that reinterpret the craftsmanship of the hearts of San Miguel de Allende.
Each piece reflects the cultural richness of Mexico and becomes a symbol of good wishes and universal love.
Decorated with vibrant and warm colors, the pieces in this collection not only seek to beautify people’s daily lives but are also a way to foster a sense of community and belonging through Mexican folk art.
Inspired by a symbol of San Miguel de Allende, the design of this collection was created by Starbucks partners (collaborators), reflecting the brand’s commitment to promoting internal creativity.
The aim is not only to offer meaningful and unique products but also to empower its partners to express their artistic and cultural vision through design.
The Marketing Director of Starbucks-Alsea said that they seek to connect with the roots of the communities they serve every day.
