On Friday, March 21, 2025, the Municipal Government of San Miguel de Allende celebrated Artisan Day with an event at the Municipal Palace, where the talent and cultural importance of local creators were recognized.

On behalf of Mayor Mauricio Trejo, the Director of Economic Development, Tania Castillo, delivered a congratulatory message to the artisans and highlighted their work in preserving the identity of San Miguel de Allende.

Accompanied by members of the Tourism Advisory Council, Castillo emphasized the municipality’s commitment to continuing the artisan fairs, which have grown in number thanks to the current administration’s efforts. It was announced that the next fair will be held during Easter Week.

During the event, the impact of the courses and workshops offered by the municipality was highlighted, which have allowed artisans to innovate and strengthen their brands.

Ubaldo de Anda Ramírez, an artisan with 48 years of experience, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and affirmed that artisans are guardians of culture and traditions. She explained that her creations reflect love, passion, and commitment, imbuing each piece with a part of her essence.

The event highlighted the fundamental role artisans play in promoting San Miguel de Allende as a global benchmark for art and tradition.
