When evaluating the nine states where there were elections on July 1, Guanajuato led the industrial production growth in the last six-year period, with an average increase of 6.6% between December 2012 and March 2018, according to original INEGI figures.
This figure was higher than the 3.5% that, on average, the industrial production of the state grew during the period from 2006 to 2012, under the government of the PAN, Juan Manuel Oliva Ramírez.
It is worth remembering that Guanajuato the candidate of the coalition “Por Guanajuato al Frente“, Diego Sinhué Rodríguez Vallejo, turned out to be the governor-elect for the 2018-2024 period.
In the rest of the topics that quantify the industrial production of Guanajuato, mining showed an average growth of 3.5%, making it the state with the best numbers within the nine that went to the polls on July 1st.
Within the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, Guanajuato grew 13.3% during the six-year term of governor Miguel Márquez Márquez, a figure higher than the 7.1% registered during the previous six-year term.
The performance of Guanajuato’s manufacturing industrial sector was also higher than that of the other nine states that held elections for governor this year, registering an average growth of 7.5% during the last six-year period.
