The Querétaro municipality has designed a “Cultural Corridor” that consists of 41 different facilities and establishments, such as museums, galleries, theaters, cultural centers, shops and plazas, to provide visitors with diverse attractions and to promote the collaboration and exchange between different cultural sites.
To advertise this initiative along with the city of Queretaro, 5,000 brochures of the Historical Center and 3,000 of the “Cultural Corridor” will be distributed and 294 tourist service providers were trained to improve the quality of customer’s attention.
Among other actions carried out to boost tourism, the first edition of Night Museums, was implemented. Starting on May 18 during the International Museum Day. In that edition, 10 cultural sites opened its doors from 6:00 to 10:00 pm with special and exclusive activities for visitors, leaving an economic impact of 500,000 pesos ($26.3 thousand USD).
Also, a new tourism brand was a created, with the name of Queretaro City and a promotional video was produced, and the website www.queretarociudad.travel was launched, with information on multiple cultural events and other attractions within Querétaro city limits.
Currently, 300 surveys (15 July to August 21) are being made by Observatory of Tourist Heritage Cities, in three different periods: Holy week, summer and winter holidays; aiming to know better the profile of different visitors.
