López Obrador announces a 10% annual salary increase for teachers

The announcement was made public by the president from the National Palace, where he revealed that this afternoon he will have a meeting with the teachers’ union where he will detail more initiatives.

Within the framework of Teacher’s Day, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, reported that there will be a 10% annual salary increase for federalized basic education teachers.

The announcement was made public by the president from the National Palace, where he revealed that this afternoon he will have a meeting with the teachers’ union where he will detail more initiatives presented in favor of the educational sector.

In addition, Obrador took advantage of the turbine to read a letter in which he issued a special message to education workers, where he expressed his gratitude for their important and sublime work for education and teaching.

In addition to the above, López Obrador highlighted that his government has always sought respect for the teachers’ union, as well as improving their salary conditions and social benefits, and he made a comparison with the previous administrations.

In addition to the teachers, AMLO also revealed the increase in the salary for administrative workers in the sector, specifying that “with Calderón they earned 6,758 pesos, with Peña 8,430 pesos and now they will receive 16,778 pesos, an increase of practically double”.
