Makamah Store is a 100% Mexican company, founded in 2011 by a couple of entrepreneurs, who have two things in common, they both are full of dreams, and they both enjoy to nap on a hammock… With those ideas in mind, they decided to start one of the most important and rewarding projects of their lifes.
Makamah was conceived to offer the people of San Miguel and all over the world, a more relaxed and quiet lifestyle.
When you live in a big city, you are always on the look for spaces for simple relaxation and disconnection from the everyday issues, and in today’s world, those spaces are sometimes difficult to find, so why don’t create them yourself?

Makamah’s mission is to take you closer to what makes you happy and bring a little bit of heaven, full of harmony, to your own home, wherever it is.
Makamah wants to create relaxing moments at home or work, featuring 100% Mexican products, that are produced by national artisans for the benefit of all people´s mind and body.
Without hesitation, this young couple got down to business and began to look for the right people with whom to work and fulfill this amazing dream.
And so, the search began. They traveled around Mexico, and it was in the southeastern part of the country where they were able to detect these talented artisans who create beautiful hammocks and lounging furniture as a way of living.

This inspired them to learn more about Mexican culture and decided to introduce to the rest of the world the fantastic work of these people that support their families by weaving hammocks.
Today, Makamah proudly provides work to hundreds of people from different communities and regions in southeastern Mexico.
Therefore, the company supports the permanence of this beautiful tradition while keeping the ancient art of weaving hammocks alive, which has been (and will be) transmitted from generation to generation.
