During the first quarter of 2016, Queretaro stood in first place in the ranking of most visited destinations within central Mexico.
According to the Bureau of Tourism and International Affairs of Queretaro, the city had an increase of 10 percent compared to the same period in 2015, achieving an economic impact of 1.8 billion pesos ($–USD).
According to the agency, at the end of April, Queretaro’s hotel rooms numbered 8,131, while 2015 closed with 7,664.
With a 66.3% hotel occupancy, Queretaro outperformed other destinations like San Miguel de Allende (65%), Aguascalientes (64.2%), Morelia (61.2%) and El Fuerte, Sinaloa (60.4%).
