The death of David Morales Bárcenas, a policeman with 11 years in the Corporation, originally from Comonfort and father of a 2 year old baby, occurred early on Wednesday June 29 when a vehicle with three men on board, did not stop at a police roadblock, crashing against Morales’ patrol car. The officer couldn’t survive from the wounds received.
The mayor and the police corp held a tribute ceremony on the memory of Morales, June 29.
The incident occurred past one o’clock, when 3 men on board a sports car with Texas license plates, assaulted a taco stand, so the police agents began a car chase on Calzada de la Estación.
A patrol that was near the place went after them and began to follow them through beltway Manuel Zavala and then to the San Miguel – Dolores Hidalgo highway, where the agents placed a roadblock.
At kilometer 69, near the Galvanes community, the suspect, identified as Mauro David Moreno Sanchez, 25 years old, hit the gas and impacted the patrol car at full speed, resulting on the death of officer David Morales.
During a press conference, Mayor Ricardo Villareal confirmed what happened and lamented the death of Morales,
who lost his life on duty.
