Holiday season security operation launched in San Miguel

In the first weekend of the 2016 holiday season, the Ministry of Public Security, Transit and Civil Protection of San Miguel with the collaboration of the Mexican Army, Federal Police and State Highway Patrol, have implemented a security, deterrence and prevention operation throughout the municipality of SMA.

During this period of time, the Municipal police inspected 113 suspicious vehicles and 250 people, of whom 22 were detained, resulting in one person arrested and a suspicious vehicle secured by the Public Security Ministry.

Besides, law enforcement officers are patrolling neighborhoods, shopping centers, banks and educational institutions within the city of San Miguel, in order to prevent accidents or criminal activity of any kind.

Municipal traffic police detained a total of six vehicles; four of them because the drivers were under the influence of alcohol and two for being parked in prohibited place.

On the other hand, about 60 violations were also recorded, and police carried out monitoring of parking lots in the SMA downtown, to prevent thefts.
