In León, Guanajuato, two Municipal Transit Police officers will be prosecuted by the Public Security Commission of Honor and Justice (Comisión de Honor y Justicia de los Cuerpos de Seguridad Pública), as they were caught on camera kissing and hugging in a public space, in full  uniform, at broad daylight, armed with service weapons and during working hours, on Tuesday August 16.

The Police Corporation started an investigation after controversial images of the two law enforcement agents “making out” went viral on social network platforms such as facebook, twitter and instagram; and the photographs were published in many news websites in Mexico and abroad.

Leon’s Public Safety Secretary, Luis Enrique Ramírez, confirmed that the case has been handed over to internal affairs so these two transit agents can be sanctioned according to regulations.

“Police officers in this city are here to work and fulfill their commitment with society and this is definitely not an appropriate behavior for a law enforcement agent”.

The Directorate General of Municipal Traffic declared that the corporation will not tolerate this kind of behavior between public security agents, and concluded the accused had violated the Regulation of the Council of Honor and Justice, for which they will be prosecuted.
