On Saturday, October 1s at “La Constelación” neighborhood in Salamanca, Guanajuato, a minor was critically injured with a gunshot, he was immediately taken to a hospital in the city of Irapuato where he unfortunately passed away three days later.
The 12 year-old child was home alone with his younger brother, when someone knocked on the door, and when he attempted to open it, several men tried to enter the house.
Screaming, the boy asked his brother for help, but the suspects kept pushing the door and one of them managed to reach in firing a .25 caliber hand gun and wounding the child on the forehead.
Red Cross paramedics and Salamanca municipal police officers arrived at the crime scene minutes later, and the minor was transferred to the hospital where he died due from the gunshot wound days later.
Region B Specialized Homicide Investigation Unit is responsible for the follow up on this case as far as the identity of the murderers is still unknown.
As soon as the Attorney General of the State of Guanajuato was notified of the case, agents from Public Prosecutions, Expert Services and Forensic Medical Service were assigned to conduct the search operation to locate those responsible for burglary and first degree murder of the 12 year-old.
