Miguel Márquez Márquez, governor of Guanajuato, will start a working tour across several cities in the United States of America to support all Guanajuato’s immigrants.
During an interview in San Miguel de Allende, Márquez Márquez declared “I am going to begin a working tour through the U.S., on Thursday March 2, the plan is to visit some of the main cities of this country, in order to speak and support immigrants from Guanajuato, and give them the necessary tools to fight against the new discriminatory immigration policies”.
“The people of Guanajuato has an important presence in the U.S., in fact, these groups of immigrants have established more than 60 associations, support centers and clubs”, said the governor of Guanajuato.
Miguel Márquez Márquez emphasized that, “Guanajuato’s migrants in the U.S. are more united than ever due Trump’s economic and immigration policies”.
In other event, the governor officially inaugurated three new facilities for the Advanced System of Highschools and Higher Education (Sistema Avanzado de Bachillerato y Educación Superior ‘SABES’), in “Corral de Piedras”, “Cruz del Palmar” and “Los López”, with a total investment of 13 million pesos (650 thousand USD).
Márquez also announced that during 2017, the state government will invest 80 million pesos (4 million USD) in educational infrastructure for San Miguel de Allende.
The event was attended by Márquez, accompanied by Ricardo Villareal García, Mayor of San Miguel de Allende, and Eusebio Vega Pérez, State Secretary of Education.
