Mayor Ricardo Villarreal led the inauguration of Plaza Estación, which in addition to hosting a cafeteria, a site museum and an exhibition center, will offer a place for artisans of San Miguel to sell their products every Sunday.
The mayor said that the goal was to use this space to generate jobs and improve the quality of life of residents.
He added that this new exhibition center becomes one of the most important in the city of San Miguel de Allende.
“We will have the opportunity to exhibit many of the beautiful items that make the Sanmiguelenses proud and generate economic dynamism at the same time”. Villareal said.
Then he continued: “As agreed, Sundays will be exclusive for our artisan friends so they can exhibit their merchandise and sell it directly to the customers. A great number of producers that do not have a point of sale, will be able to come here on Sundays to sell their items”.
Villareal said that during the week, this space will be available for anyone who wants to rent it for social or corporative events, “the idea is that this place is self-sufficient,” he concluded.
The total cost of the new Plaza Station was 6,493,500 pesos.
