San Miguel has two nearby international airports: Del Bajío International (BJX) located in Leon/Guanajuato, about a 11/2-hour drive, and Querétaro Intercontinental Airport (QRO), about an hour’s drive.
And on Friday January 26, the Mexican Army in coordination with the Federal Police carried out a search operation in a parcel warehouse inside the Intercontinental Airport of Querétaro, where they detected drugs prohibited by law.
Military personnel belonging to the 7th Mechanized Regiment, by means of the use of trained canonophile binomials and with the support of an X-ray team, located inside a cardboard box, a package wrapped with carbon paper, which contained green herb inside, with the characteristics of marijuana, weighing approximately 0.720 kilograms.
Once the drug was seized, it was put at the disposal of the competent federal authorities to initiate the corresponding inquiries, and an investigation file was open.
