Mexico City – Mérida flight canceled due to bomb threat

The Mexico City – Mérida flight 789 of Volaris was canceled due to a bomb threat on Wednesday February 20th, 2019.

The flight 789 of Volaris in the International Airport of the City of Mexico with destination Merida, Yucatan, was canceled as a protection measure that the corresponding protocols follow, including evacuation of the passengers.

Volaris activated bomb threat security protocols on its 789 flight departing out of Mexico City and destined for Merida, Yucatán; situation that led to the cancelation of the flight, and through a statement, the airline reported that after the alert, all passengers were evacuated from the plane, as a security measure.


Bomb threat in flight from the CDMX to Mérida was a false alarm

Specialized explosives personnel carried out the search for the alleged explosive device, which was not found, so it was determined a false alarm.

Mexican aircarrier Volaris apologized with customers for the delay on Twitter, by saying that they needed to follow the protocols for the security of passengers.
