Category one Lorena arrived to Baja California Sur, and so the State Council of Civil Protection ordered to suspend classes in Los Cabos, from elementary to college, including day care centers of all sorts and for both shifts, because the hurricane could hit any moment.

Carlos Mendoza Davis, Baja California Sur governor published in his social media feeds that Civil Protection has agreed that as of 1300 hours of this Thursday (September 19th) the activities for all boats and ships in Los Cabos are suspended until further notice as a preventive measure to face the arrival of Lorena.

The Civil Protection Council informed that the supply of fuel and food is guaranteed, and invited the public to avoid any kind of “panic shopping” due to the presence of Lorena in the area.

In the next hours Lorena could diminish its intensity to tropical storm again, or become a category two instead.
