Commemorating the historical struggle of women, the SMA Municipality prepared a program of activities involving various municipal agencies headed by the Municipal Institute of Care for Women (IMAM), which recognizes the effort, dedication, and worth of all women in the municipality, with emphasis on issues of digital inclusion, comprehensive opportunities, and gender equality, as established by the United Nations (UN).

Women are a fundamental pillar in the vision of the Municipal Administration there are 11 women holders in the Cabinet, with a female majority in boards, coordination, and a nominal staff also made up mostly of women; This is how feminine value is promoted in public life and their contribution to San Miguel society is strengthened.

As part of the commemoration, the Secretariat of Citizen Security will deploy an operation to protect the “8M” citizen march, which will take place at the Benito Juárez park, to guarantee the safety of the protesters in their peaceful mobilization, mainly with the Specialized Unit for the Prevention and Attention of Gender Violence.

In addition, the Municipal Administration, through the Directorate of Culture and Traditions, prepared the “Concert for International Women’s Day” in the Civic Plaza, totally dedicated to the empowerment of women, with the presentation of local female talents.
