At the Xotolar tourist ranch (@xotolarranch), owner Tomás Morin welcomes visitors with a big smile and a delicious pot of coffee, before telling part of the history of the ranch, where several songs written by “The King,” José Alfredo Jiménez, make a lot of sense.

Morin explained that Xotolar has 24 years of history, with this tourist ranch format since agriculture does not provide a living as it used to do in the past, mainly due to the harsh climate.

At the Tourist Ranch, part of the tour is to learn about the country’s culture, from milking the cows, making cheese, rustic wood-fired cooking, and early in the morning making handmade tortillas.

At Xotolar, preparing a ranch-style breakfast is a unique moment worth experiencing.

Xotolar offers tourists experiences that also include horseback riding throughout the Morin family’s lands, as well as camping in the woods or inside a cave.

The Xotolar Ranch is located near the Cañada de la Virgen archaeological zone, from where you can ride horseback along trails between ravines and enjoy contact with nature, accompanied by real cowboys, so you can live a very special experience, away from the noise of the cities and the stress of everyday activities.

It is worth visiting this beautiful ranch where tourists can live an adventure of their own in the style of the old west, enjoying the landscapes that surround Xotolar, and you can also camp on site and enjoy the star-filled nights.
