Only 50 kilometers (34 miles) away from San Miguel de Allende, Celaya is the third most populated municipality of Guanajuato, with 494,304 inhabitants according to the last INEGI census.
Among its main attractions, there is its Historic Center, Celaya’s Museum of Regional History and the Xochipilli Park, just to name a few.
There are many attractions to enjoy such as its great religious and cultural tourism, historical monuments, as well as shopping centers and mercados.
Some of its main tourist attractions are the Alameda, the Jardín Principal, and of course you must try one of Celaya’s most iconic products is the Cajeta, a sweet syrup made by simmering goat’s milk, or occasionally a sweetened liquid, stirring frequently, until it becomes very viscous due to evaporation of water, and caramelized.
Although Celaya also stands out for its wide range of industrial parks, which has allowed it to be one of the cities with the greatest investment of national and foreign companies from different sectors among which stand out the automotive.
