San Miguel de Allende.- The Tourist Council will disappear after 16 years of operation. Through a statement, the board of directors reported on the dissolution of this Institution, which will conclude operations on the last day of this month of December.

“The Tourist Council is dissolved to start the creation of a new body to face the new times. The business sector together with the municipal president are working so that in the first quarter of 2022 there will be a new council that will continue to position San Miguel de Allende ”, says the official statement.

The information does not clarify why the tourist council is being diluted if a new body will be created anyway.

“As a team, we allow ourselves to thank the trust of the San Miguel residents, as well as the businessmen who, with their hearts, joined this innovative project since 2005 in which we walked together with our members during all these 16 years with passion, commitment and diligence so that San Miguel de Allende distinguished itself worldwide and allowed us to show millions of visitors the magic of our city ”, says the official statement.

The government assured that the destination will continue to renew itself in terms of tourism and asked everyone to join together in this venture.

“We are sure that we will continue to do our best in this project called San Miguel de Allende. We will continue working with the Tourism Directorate of the Municipal Administration 2021-2024 headed by Tania Castillo de la Peña ”, concluded the press release.
