Silao, Guanajuato.- Two new Japanese companies (Fuji OOZX and DMS molds) inaugurated two plants in Guanajuato’s Inner Harbor (Guanajuato Puerto Interior- GPI), where they will supply auto parts to many different automobile industry plants throughout the country.
DMS is dedicated to produce steel molds for the manufacture of cast aluminum parts. This new facility created around 30 direct jobs in its first stage, with an investment of around 7 million USD.
Fuji OOZX produces engine valves that control the flow of gas to the combustion chamber. Parts require special resistance to wear, corrosion and oxidation at extreme temperatures. This company will invest 33 million USD and create 150 direct jobs.
GPI’s CEO, Luis Manuel Quiroz Echegaray said that “since the creation of the Puerto Interior, 108 companies from 18 different countries have established their facilities on this industrial park, impacting the economy growth, with an investment of more than 3.5 billion dollars, and 16 thousand jobs created.
Both Japanese companies made a donation to the “Josefina Ramos” Kindergarden, located at the community of “Mezquite de Sotelo”, next to the Inner Harbor (Puerto Interior). This donation will be used to improve the school facilities, benefiting more than one hundred local children.
