“The economic housing project announced by mayor Ricardo Villarreal will be a priority” said Gonzalo González, acting mayor of San Miguel de Allende.

He said that the project will be followed up so that before the end of this administration, people can be signing up and can get a good quality and low price house for the benefit of low income San Miguel residents.

“One of the major projects that we will follow up on is the construction of the development that will contain housing for people with low income. It is one of the most important projects for this administration,” said the acting mayor.

He said they will seek to speed up this project but that there are things that do not depend on them.

“We are providing the land; and we will forsee that construction companies develop the infrastructure necessary and then get the credit from federal agencies for an official program,” he said.

“We will release the finiancig details on time; it will undoubtedly be the most ambitious housing program the city has ever seen. The initiative contemplates 3,000 houses of social interest,” González explained.

He estimated that in about two months they will be revealing the details and the idea is to benefit the people of San Miguel who do not own a home yet.

Finally, he emphasized that the City Hall will be very careful that this benefit reaches those who really need it, to prevent people who do not live in San Miguel or who have high purchasing power from buying a house at a low cost.

The complex will be located at the exit to Doctor Mora, just minutes away from the administrative building of the municipal presidency.
