From August 14 to 17, “Mexico Food Food Show 2018” was held at the CitiBanamex Forum in Mexico City, where the state of Guanajuato was present.

Rito Vargas Varela, Assistant Secretary for Development and Agri-Food Competitiveness stressed that with the presence of the state, it was intended to publicize the products of origin, some with the Guanajuato Premium Zone certification, as well as organic, chemical-free foods, produced in the state.

He explained that the stand exhibited the products of more than 50 companies from Guanajuato, of which at least 10 exhibit their organic production, grown under a strict control free of chemical products.

Vargas Varela indicated that “Guanajuato is betting strongly for organic products to be recognized; the conditions in which they are produced have allowed them to export to the United States, Canada and Japan and that positions the Guanajuato in the eyes of Mexico and the world. ”

He added that the Guanajuato Premium Zone certification is promoted at the stand, which distinguishes the state with a unique recognition of its kind in the country.

The Undersecretary pointed out that the participation of Guanajuato in Mexico Alimentaria has been outstanding in its three editions. On the first day there was a large number of attendees interested in knowing what the State has to offer in the agri-food sector.

Buyers from 50 different countries attended the “Mexico Alimentaria Food Show 2018”, with which producers from Guanajuato held business meetings, in order to improve their exports and increase sales in both national and international markets.
