Sir Michael Philip Jagger, or Mick Jagger as he is most often known, was born on July 26, 1943.
He is a singer, songwriter, actor, and film producer who is widely regarded as one of the most important artists of the rock ‘n’ roll period. He rose to international prominence as the lead vocalist of the Rolling Stones, whose first big success was It’s All Over Now.
Most of us grew up seeing him come on stage with his typical swagger in performances that showcased his distinct vocals. Many music fans have fallen in love with him because of his dynamic live performances.
Mr. Jagger’s music career surpasses any other in rock and roll history, as the Stones have been around for more than 60 years as a rock’n roll band! It´s just incredible.
Mick Jagger turned 79 on Tuesday, July 26th – and the music legend celebrated his birthday in the Breidenbacher Hof on Königsallee, Germany.
He arrived in Düsseldorf with the rest of the Stones on Monday, July 25th, of course on his own plane, complete with the Stones logo on the outside of the plane: the red tongue and red lips, which are supposed to stand for freedom.
From late Tuesday afternoon, hundreds of fans were already standing in front of the hotel, who even sang the “Happy Birthday” song in between. This also included Jana from Dortmund. She had hoped to lure the singer out of the building with the birthday song – which, however, did not work. The 35-year-old was still one of the stubbornly waiting. She waited in front of the hotel from 11 a.m. until well into the afternoon. “For me, the Rolling Stones the only true rock band,” she said.
The Dortmund native had read on the internet that the Stones were to be guests at the Breidenbacher Hof. “Then I spontaneously decided to take the train to Düsseldorf on Tuesday morning and use the nine-euro ticket,” she explained. Unfortunately, she didn’t get a ticket for the band’s performance in Gelsenkirchen .
