Apparently the two were hiking on Sunday afternoon, and as they were looking for a drone they had lost, then fell through a crack in the canyon, about 18-feet deep, and they were not found until Monday by other tourists who passed through the area, heard them shouting and warned the authorities.

The wounded were transferred to the general hospital of San Luis de la Paz, after at least five hours of rescue operation.
